Where to put your QR code
The point of the QR code is to remove the step where someone has to type your number. Print it wherever a customer already has their phone out. Tap any example to load its message into the tool above:
Why a prefilled message helps
A blank chat asks the customer to do the work of explaining themselves. A prefilled message gives them a starting point they can send in one tap. "Hi, I'd like to book a table" beats an empty box, because the person is more likely to actually send it, and you get a message you can route straight away.
Keep it short and specific to where the code lives. A menu QR might prefill "Hi, I'd like to order for delivery", while a shopfront poster might prefill "Hi, are you open now?". The customer can always edit it before sending.
Personal number vs WhatsApp Business
The link works with any WhatsApp number, so you can start with your personal account today. If WhatsApp becomes a real channel for you, a free WhatsApp Business account adds a business profile, greeting and away messages, quick replies, and labels to keep chats organised. You keep the same link and QR when you switch, so nothing you print goes out of date.
Common questions
Is this an official WhatsApp tool?
No. It builds a standard wa.me link and a QR code for it. It is not affiliated with WhatsApp or Meta.
Does my number or message get sent anywhere?
No. The link and QR code are generated in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded to any server.
What is a prefilled message?
It is text that appears ready to send when someone opens the chat, so they can just tap send. They can still edit or delete it before sending.
Does this work with WhatsApp Business?
Yes. The link works with any WhatsApp number, whether it is a personal account or a WhatsApp Business account.
