Build /tempo with us

cmdtempo builds one custom app that runs a small business's admin, all in one place.

One day, we want to be the app every small business runs on. (Big dreams, we know!)

Business Development Associate

  • Founding role
  • Commission, then salary
  • Hybrid, Singapore
  • ~8 hrs a week

About the job

Our first client went from 6 tools to 1 app. Now we're looking for someone to help us bring that to many more businesses.

Let's be upfront

We're early. There's no fixed salary at the start.

But here's what there is: a real product, a paying client, and a clear plan for how your pay grows as we grow. As our founding sales partner, we genuinely want you to succeed when we succeed. We're looking for someone who gets excited by that, not scared by it.

What you'll do

  • Find and reach out to small business owners, starting with tuition centres
  • Sit down with them, understand how they run things, and show them what's possible
  • Shape the solution with our team. Every app is custom, so you're part salesperson, part problem-solver
  • Close the deal, then hand the client over to our team for the build

What you'll earn

  • 18% to 25% of every build fee you sell. The more you close in a month, the higher your rate on all of them
  • S$720 to S$3,000 per sale
  • Hit S$55,000 in sales and you move to a part-time salary plus commission
  • From there, your salary is reviewed regularly and grows with the company. As we grow, longer contracts follow

The deal

Your own hours, hybrid in Singapore, no quotas. We find around 8 hours a week works well, ideally with some weekday mornings or evenings free for meetings. Stop anytime with 2 weeks' notice.

You'll be great at this if you

  • Are driven and self-starting
  • Enjoy talking to people, especially business owners who aren't techy
  • Can explain things simply, without jargon
  • Are curious about how businesses actually work
  • Are comfortable with commission-only pay at the start, and motivated by building something

Nice to have

  • You know people who own small businesses, especially tuition centres
  • You speak Mandarin or a dialect. Many owners will appreciate it
  • Some sales, business development or consulting experience. Not required, we'll train you

Freelance Developer

  • Freelance
  • Paid per project
  • Remote, Singapore
  • Flexible hours

About the job

Every /tempo app is custom. One week it's a tuition centre's attendance and invoices, the next it's a café's orders and stock. As we sign more clients, we need more hands to build them, and we'd love yours.

What you'll do

  • Build features for client apps, from a clear brief we've agreed with the client
  • Connect the tools businesses already use, like WhatsApp, Xero and Google Sheets
  • Add AI where it helps, like answering customer questions from a business's FAQs
  • Work closely with our team: we review each other's work and ship small, often

What you'll earn

  • Paid per project, agreed upfront before you start
  • Steady work as we grow. Freelancers who do great work get first pick of new projects
  • A path to a longer contract as the team grows

The deal

Your own hours, mostly remote, with the occasional meet-up in Singapore. Take on as much or as little as suits you.

You'll be great at this if you

  • Have built and shipped real web apps (JavaScript/TypeScript or Python)
  • Are comfortable working with APIs and connecting different tools
  • Can turn a messy, real-world process into simple software
  • Keep people updated and write clearly

Nice to have

  • Experience with AWS, the WhatsApp Business API, Xero or payments
  • Experience building with AI models, like Claude or OpenAI
  • You speak Mandarin or a dialect
